To Those of Us Who Read, To Those of Us Who Write

We set out to create something special for our stories. A place to read, write and discover our stories and ideas.

A while ago, we set out to create a platform. One where everyone can write, read, and share their stories.

To be clear, this is something that already exists. There is no shortage of places to publish your stories and there is far from a shortage of places to find something to read. So why did we bother?

Because we wanted to make something better. Something waaay better.

We set out to create a platform that caters to local writers and readers so that some of our stories that usually get lost in the haystack can find their shine. We also set out to create a platform that is world-class, and at par with the best platforms you can find anywhere else, so we can finally have a great place for our stories to live.

The result is Savv, a world-class platform built in Kenya.

It is a place where you can find relatable stories about our home, about our people, about our triumphs, and about our issues. It is also a place where you can publish your own stories, connect with your readers, and also grow.

Beyond writing and publishing, we are building tools to help you discover stories, tools to organize and build your reading library, and tools to share stories and ideas with others.

We have also started work on tools for writers to make money off their work. This includes subscriptions, ad-supported writing, direct sponsorship, tips and many more.

We hope that what we've built will be genuinely useful to you, to the stories you'd like to tell, and to the stories you’d like to be told.

You are welcome to explore around. Tell us if this is genuinely a good thing or if we missed it. Your views are of great value.

I really do enjoy Kenyan films and whenever I get the chance to watch one I make a point to do so.Lately, though I've noticed that many of them have a lot in common. One theme that pops out a lot is 'crime', which means the ghetto life will play a big role in the film. Are we just not that innovative ama?
